Mota goes for a high kick to start the match and Cougar Jay falls back into the corner. Mota chops Cougar Jay into the corner, Irish whip, and he hits a back bodydrop. Mota throws Cougar Jay out of the ring, he then goes over to the ropes and sails out onto Cougar Jay with a pescado. Mota throws Cougar Jay back into the ring and then flips back in himself, karate thrust by Mota, snapmare, and he delivers the Flashing Elbow. Irish whip to the corner by Mota, reversed, but Mota nails Cougar Jay in the throat with a karate kick. Cover, and he picks up the three count. Your winner: Great Mota

Match Thoughts: This was Mutoh's debut match as the Great Muta. His named was spelled "Great Mota" for the first few weeks, but was changed to Great Muta thereafter. Anyway, good little debut for Great Muta as they kept is simple but still showed off his speed and ability to defeat enemies very quickly. No mist or moonsault yet, just some martial arts stuff. Things would pick up soon though as Muta became one of the expected stars of WCW in 1989. Score: 6.0
