Match Thoughts: Williams was still making a name for himself in Japan at this point after gaining popularity while in the UWF (American version). Mutoh was still growing and at this stage of his career still wasn't much of a threat for the larger and more experienced gaijin. Six days after this match, Williams had a match against Inoki for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, if that puts this into perspective a bit. Mutoh got in a few flashes of goodness with his two patented moves and the fiery dropkicks in the middle, but for the most part Williams never looked like he was in serious trouble. This was more of a pit stop for Williams before better things, but not a bad match. Score: 5.5
